Clinic Pets
Roxy
Hi! My name is Roxy! I have been living at 16th Ave since January 2022. My owners could not take care of me anymore so 16th Ave welcomed me with open arms. I am working really hard to trust people again, so I may be abit shy or hesitant at first! I love oranges and leaves. You may not see me when you are at the clinic as I’m sleeping away in the back, but just know, I am still the boss!!
Hospital Owner/DVM
Dr. Fareed
Hello! Welcome to 16th Ave Animal Hospital! My name is Dr. Fareed Ahmad. I took over the clinic back in May of 2019. I have over 20 years’ experience as a veterinarian and I am very excited to make this clinic my own! We have made tons of improvements at the clinic to future enhance our ability to treat and diagnose your pet. It is my goal to ensure you and your pet get the best level of care possible. At home, I have a 2 year old cat named Slushy who I adopted from North Toronto Cat Rescue. My goal is to treat every pet that walks, runs or hops through our door like they are my own! I hope to see/meet you soon!
Practice Manager
Mimi
Hi there, my name is Mimi and I am the practice manager here at 16th Ave Animal Hospital. I take pride in ensuring your pet leaves the clinic happy and healthy. I have always had a soft spot for animals, I grew up with dogs, cats, fish, bunnies and even the odd hermit crab. It was not until my family dog, Kysha, passed that I knew I wanted to be a part of a team who cares for animals. I have been in the field since 2017 and joined the 16th Ave team in 2019! We are all one big family here, and having your fur babies here makes you a part of it! When I am not at work, you can see me at the dog park with my two German Shepherds, Duke and Beau or cuddling with my new rescue cat, Finn.

Samantha
Hi! My name is Sam and I am a veterinary assistant here at 16th Ave AH. I have a degree in biology and after working a few years in zoos and wildlife research, I realized I was very interested in the medical side of taking care of animals. I decided to return to school for veterinary technician and am currently in my second year. I grew up with cats, dogs, birds, lizards, frogs and enjoyed every second of it! At home I have a senior rescue cat named Venus, who has no sense of personal space, and two western hognose snakes named Peter and Henry! I look forward to getting to know you and your pets!
Karen
Hello everyone! My name is Karen, I started at 16th Ave back in 2020 as a co-op student. I loved working with animals so much I decided to join the team part-time in 2021. My goal is to become a veterinarian in the future, I am hoping to start school in September 2022. When you visit us, you may see me greeting you at the door, taking medical history and helping Dr. Fareed with exams and treatments! When I first started my co-op at the clinic, there was a bunny who was surrendered, and I automatically fell in love, I decided to adopt him. His name is Alfie!

Hi! I’m Kathryn. I joined the 16th Ave team just a few months ago! The clinic gave me an opportunity of my dreams – to work in a pet hospital! I am here to help book your pet’s appointments, make sure your pet’s vaccines are up to date and answer any questions you may have regarding your pet’s health.
