Clinic Pets

Hi! My name is Roxy! I have been living at 16th Ave since January 2022. My owners could not take care of me anymore so 16th Ave welcomed me with open arms. I am working really hard to trust people again, so I may be abit shy or hesitant at first! I love oranges and leaves. You may not see me when you are at the clinic as I’m sleeping away in the back, but just know, I am still the boss!!

Hospital Owner/DVM

Dr. Fareed

Hello! Welcome to 16th Ave Animal Hospital! My name is Dr. Fareed Ahmad. I took over the clinic back in May of 2019. I have over 20 years’ experience as a veterinarian and I am very excited to make this clinic my own! We have made tons of improvements at the clinic to future enhance our ability to treat and diagnose your pet. It is my goal to ensure you and your pet get the best level of care possible. At home, I have a 2 year old cat named Slushy who I adopted from North Toronto Cat Rescue. My goal is to treat every pet that walks, runs or hops through our door like they are my own! I hope to see/meet you soon!

Dr. Hu

Hello! I’m Dr. Stephanie Hu. I graduated from Edinburgh University Veterinary School in Scotland UK in 2009 after attaining double major degrees in teaching/biology in 2004 at Brock University. My passion has always been animals for as long as I can remember. I have owned dogs, cats, rabbits, rats and a horse over my time. I practiced in the United Kingdom for 10 years after graduating doing companion/exotic animal medicine and emergency work before moving back to Markham in 2018 to be closer to my family. My main interests are surgery and anaesthesia. In my spare time, I enjoy spending it with my 6 year old son and traveling whenever we can. We recently adopted a shih- poo named Zoe who you will likely see at the clinic!

Practice Manager/Veterinary Assistant

Hi there! My name is Kaitlyn and I’m a Veterinary Assistant here at 16th Ave AH that joined the team December 2021! I’m one of the very familiar faces you will see here looking after your fur babies! I graduated from the Veterinary Assistant program at Seneca College in 2019 and plan to go back in the coming year(s) to do the Veterinary Technician program as well as hope to specialize in large animals! I have owned and loved animals my entire life. When I’m not at the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my family and my fur babies Nalah, Scruffy, Ruckus and Lacey and my shelled baby, Happy!

Registered Veterinary Technician

Heyo! My name is Alex, and I am a Registered Veterinary Technician here at 16th Avenue Animal Hospital. I started at the clinic back in 2017 to get credits for my veterinary assistant program. Then, in 2018, while starting my technician program, I started working part-time at 16th Ave. After I finished my program in 2021, I immersed myself into animal care full time at the clinic and am one of the most familiar faces you will see at the clinic. When not at the clinic, I am at home giving my fur babies, Bear, a Samoyed, and new addition Ella, a senior rescue cat who use to live at the clinic, all the attention!

Veterinary Technician

Hi there, my name is Mimi and I am a technician here at 16th Ave Animal Hospital. I take pride in ensuring your pet leaves the clinic happy and healthy. I have always had a soft spot for animals, I grew up with dogs, cats, fish, bunnies and even the odd hermit crab. It was not until my family dog, Kysha, passed that I knew I wanted to be a part of a team who cares for animals. I have been in the field since 2017 and joined the 16th Ave team in 2019! We are all one big family here, and having your fur babies here makes you a part of it! When I am not at work, you can see me at the dog park with my two German Shepherds, Duke and Beau or cuddling with my new rescue cat, Finn.

Hi there! My name is Sara and I am a vet assistant here at 16th Ave! I graduated from the Veterinary Assistant program at Seneca in 2021, and I am currently enrolled in the Veterinary Technician program, expecting to graduate next year in 2023. I have been around animals all my life. In my free time, I love fostering dogs and cats of all ages. I have two foster fails, a kitty names Raven and a dog names Kubo.

Vet Assistant

Hello everyone! My name is Karen, I started at 16th Ave back in 2020 as a co-op student. I loved working with animals so much I decided to join the team part-time in 2021. My goal is to become a veterinarian in the future, I am hoping to start school in September 2022. When you visit us, you may see me greeting you at the door, taking medical history and helping Dr. Fareed with exams and treatments! When I first started my co-op at the clinic, there was a bunny who was surrendered, and I automatically fell in love, I decided to adopt him. His name is Alfie!
